Outing to Liverpool (16/07/06)

On 16th July, a group of ringers from York Minster went on an outing Liverpool. The main purpose of the trip was to ring a quarter peal at the Cathedral, which has the heaviest ring of bells in the world, a ring of 12 (plus 2#) with a tenor of 82-0-11 in Ab (our own bells are the fourth heaviest ring in the world). Following the quarter, we had some general ringing at the Cathedral, and then on the fine bells at St Francis Xavier RC Church (8, 16-1-6 in E), and Liverpool's Parish Church of St Nicholas, Pier Head (12+6b, 41-3-15 in C). The day concluded with a meal at a Restaurant in Penny Lane.
